FLN stands for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, which refers to the basic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics. These skills are important for children's development and success in school and life.

The Department of School Education and Literacy of Jharkhand has initiated a special initiative called “Prayas -Siti bajao, school bulao” (blow whistle, summon pupils to school) to get back students who have been missing lessons for more than a month.
